ABOUT CWR

With more than 90 employees, Crow Wing Recycling is a family-owned business that buys, processes and sells scrap metals—ferrous and nonferrous—from automobiles, trucks, appliances, machines that are generated by industry through construction or deconstruction of facilities.

Headquartered in Brainerd, MN, the environmentally certified facility is situated on 20 acres and operates feeder yards in Pine River, Milaca, and Monticello. Crow Wing Recycling also operates out of Ironton, MN where more processing and shipping is handled. Crow Wing Recycling processed 120,000 tons of ferrous and 10-million pounds of nonferrous scrap metal in 2012.

Grant VanWyngeeren
Owner

Grant started working in the family business in 1996. He graduated from UW-River Falls in 2005 with a degree in business management. He is currently the Vice President for Crow Wing Recycling and all of its divisions. Grant is on the Board of Directors for Confidence Learning Center, an active member of the Brainerd Jaycees and VP of the northwest chapter of ISRI

Dutch has owned Crow Wing Recycling since 1996 and is now president. Prior to his ownership here at CWR, he owned and operated a local garbage service called Disposal Services.  Dutch served on the board of directors for Camp Confidence and started the donation can trailers by building them himself!

Ean Kuhlmey
Account Rep

Ean Kuhlmey joined Crow Wing Recycling in 2013. He is responsible for the company’s business development with the scrap dealer network in central and northern Minnesota. Kuhlmey has more than 10 years experience in the scrap recycling industry and more than 15 in the sales industry.

Mike Nelson is a lifetime resident of the Brainerd lakes area and started with Crow Wing Recycling in May of 2018.  Mike has over 12 years of sales experience in the powersports industry.   As an account representative, he is passionate about recycling and getting you the most money for your metals.

Amy 
Account Manager

Amy Christensen started with Crow Wing Recycling in September of 2011.  She is tasked with key parts of day to day operations like accounts payable/receivable. Amy handles bank accounts from every location.
